A 5G base station's channel state information (CSI) encodes a fingerprint of everything between the transmitter and receiver — buildings, vehicles, people, weather, foliage. When a truck passes through a cell sector, the multipath profile changes. When rain begins, signal attenuation shifts in a characteristic pattern. When a crowd gathers, the scattering environment transforms.
These are not anomalies to be filtered out. They are signals to be decoded.

The Edge AI Imperative
Processing raw radio data at cloud scale is not viable. A single 5G sector generates gigabytes of channel measurement data per hour. Aggregating that across a metropolitan deployment would require bandwidth that defeats the purpose.
The sensing intelligence must live at the edge — co-located with the radio hardware, processing data in real time, and surfacing only the derived insights upstream.
